ABOUT ME
TECHNICAL SKILLS
My journalism career started in high school in Shorewood, Wisconsin. As a staff writer and later as the managing editor of Ripples, the Shorewood High School newspaper, I co-led the effort to bring our school paper online in 2019, expanding its reach, making it more accessible to our readers, and offering us the chance to publish digital-exclusive stories. It was during this time that I fell in love with reporting. I saw firsthand how meaningful local journalism could be – students, parents and community members would often stop me in the hallways or send messages to share how my writing kept them informed about important issues in the village.

At Tufts University, where I graduated summa cum laude in 2024 with a degree in political science and a minor in film and media studies, I continued honing my skills at The Tufts Daily. Over 4 years I wore many hats, including staff writer, investigative reporter, deputy news executive and editorial board member. The Daily, along with some incredible professors, pushed me as a writer and editor, and I had the opportunity to interview interesting people across many different walks of life. At Tufts, I also developed my multimedia skills, including layout and visual design, podcasting, and live radio broadcasting.

After graduating, I took a slightly different path, joining the Voter Protection Corps (VPC) to tackle a critical challenge in today’s media landscape: disinformation. At VPC, I led a nonpartisan educational initiative that trained voter protection volunteers to identify and counteract AI-generated disinformation. My work on this project reinforced a core belief I’ve held since my days at Ripples: local journalism is one of the most powerful tools we have to combat disinformation and strengthen our trust in each other.

Now, I’m thrilled to return to writing and reporting, bringing with me not only my passion for storytelling but also a deep commitment to serving the public with accurate and meaningful information. I’m currently based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and eager to reconnect with the world of local journalism.
